Annual Christmas raffle generates over £700 in funds for local Charity, Overgate Hospice, in memory of employee.
The team at Lucy Zodion recently raised £713 for Overgate Hospice by hosting its annual Christmas raffle. Held on Thursday 20th December 2018, the raffle was held in memory of Nick Swan, a Lucy Zodion employee who sadly passed earlier in 2018 from a terminal brain tumour.
The decision to donate proceeds to the Overgate Hospice Charity was unanimous throughout Lucy Zodion, as the organisation provided Nick with dignified and respectful assistance in his final days last year. A service that the costs the Charity over £7,000 a day to provide.
This year the raffle proved a huge success with Lucy Zodion staff from across the company participating by donating £1 per strip of tickets. With prizes such as food hampers, chocolates and festive fizz up for grabs the raffle saw a huge take up, resulting in tremendous fundraising activity.
Lucy Zodion will combine proceeds from the raffle and its recent Christmas Jumper day, which raised £100 in itself, bringing the total to an impressive £813. This is a great legacy for Nick, who will always be fondly remembered by the staff at Lucy Zodion.
Overgate Hospice is a Calderdale based Charity dedicated to caring for patients with life-limiting illnesses and offering respite for families (and) of those in Overgate’s care. Many of the fundraising activities carried out by the manufacturer are aimed towards the charity.
