In partnership with bp Pulse, and WGM Engineering Ltd, we are thrilled to be working on the landmark Police Scotland contract, worth over £25 million, which is set to shape the future of emergency services in the United Kingdom and provide the first ultra-low emission blue light fleet.
Providing the essential infrastructure solutions necessary to facilitate the installation of over 1,000 EV charging points at 265 locations throughout Scotland, including 35 ultra-fast chargers, the collaboration brings together bp Pulse, a leading provider of EV charging infrastructure in the UK, and WGM Engineering, one of Scotland’s top engineering companies.
Matteo de Renzi, CEO of bp Pulse, said “We are incredibly proud to be able to support Police Scotland through this landmark contract – the largest of its kind ever awarded in the UK – as they transition their fleet and contribute to the Scottish Government’s 2045 net-zero target.”
Deputy Chief Constable Will Kerr emphasized the strategic importance of this contract for Police Scotland, as it aligns with their ambitious fleet strategy to introduce the UK’s first ultra-low emission blue light fleet by 2030. The introduction of ULEVs (Ultra-Low Emission Vehicles) will not only reduce carbon emissions but also result in lower maintenance and servicing costs for the police force, a pivotal step towards achieving sustainability and a modern, fit-for-purpose fleet.
We look forward to sharing more information on this exciting project in our case study, coming soon.
