The TALQ Consortium has developed a global standard protocol to enable Central Management Software to configure, control, command and monitor multiple Outdoor Device Networks from various suppliers through an easy-to-integrate RESTful/JSON protocol. TALQ is open to industry members to join and participate in the evolution of the TALQ Protocol.
Most available smart city solutions, are proprietary – locking cities into single vendor solutions. Thanks to the TALQ Smart City Protocol, cities can now choose and adopt interoperable solutions e.g. smart streetlights, smart waste and parking sensors from different vendors – all controlled by a single platform.
Lucy Zodion is now certified to the latest TALQ 2 specification. The new TALQ 2 specification is an easy to integrate RESTful/JSON protocol that addresses many smart city applications and ensures Lucy Zodion’s Ki. platform is interoperable and in line with a defined industry standard.
The TALQ Specification defines a management interface for outdoor device networks, where a single Central Management System (CMS) can control various device net- works for multiple applications in different parts of a city or region. It supports system monitoring and joint data collection, as well as simplified configuration and upgrades.
Flexible for freedom of choice
We work to the latest version of the TALQ open protocol to ensure city leaders have the flexibility to introduce new solutions at any point of their smart city journey. Offering users with a platform that provides freedom of choice, puts City Leaders in control of which vendors they work with and the way their city is shaped, based on their unique urban challenges.
Our TALQ version 2 Certification has come at an exciting time. We understand the growing need for interoperability and strive to provide solutions that match both the needs of municipalities and specification standards. The Certification proves our approach is suitable and compatible with the evolution of smart cities and, by working together with members of the TALQ Consortium, we can learn quicker and become more agile in such a fast paced and growing space.
