Lucy Zodion provide cut outs for Auckland Transport
Background
Auckland Transport is responsible for all of Auckland’s Transport services, including roads, footpaths, cycle tracks, parking and public transport but excluding state highways. It works day-to-day to keep Auckland’s transport system moving, while at the same time continually moving the region towards its long-term transport goals. Its long-term planning also supports Auckland’s wider plans for economic growth and development.
Solution
Working with Auckland-based specialist distributor MI Systems, Lucy Zodion has been supplying fused cut-outs for street lighting to Auckland Transport for the past three years. The units supplied by Lucy Zodion feature a MEN link modification to ensure compliance with the New Zealand ASNZS3000 electrical regulations. Recently the units have again been modified to provide an extra earth terminal, which is necessary as a result of coated poles requiring a separate driven earth.
One of Transport Auckland’s key motivations for specifying fused cut-outs is electrical safety – for the maintenance contractor and also for the general public, for example in the event of a road traffic accident or incident of vandalism that results in damage to a street lighting pole.
In addition, fused cut-outs make the installation process easier, saving both time and money, therefore meeting the common requirement of today’s local authorities the world over for greater efficiency.
Mr. Seymour Haden of MI Systems Ltd, said:
Lucy Zodion have provided us with a professional, seamless service over the last 12 years as well as a consistently high quality product. They have had no problem modifying their photocells and cut-outs to suit our requirements for the New Zealand market and their team clearly has a level of experience and expertise that gives it a true understanding of our needs as an organisation.
