Lucy Zodion Ltd, Sowerby Bridge based lighting controls manufacturer and specialist in the design and development of smart lighting technologies, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, along with the completion of its new extension in an official launch on 19th September 2017.

A project that has taken almost a year to complete, the build coincides with the company’s 60th anniversary and means staff will benefit from almost 100% more space. This will not only house increased product stocks and manufacturing facilities, but will create further office space for a growing team of engineers and industry specialists.

The extension is a welcome addition to the business, which is expanding in its own right thanks to a new focus on the development of technologies fit for transport, smart cities and international markets. This, along with the move of its Pre-Wired Pillar division from Milton Keynes to the Sowerby Bridge site, means that extra space will facilitate a more efficient working environment.

At the launch, Lucy Zodion will welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Calderdale (Ferman Ali & Shaheen Ali), Halifax MP Holly Lynch and the Ryburn Valley High School Choir.

A timely addition that celebrates six decades of innovation and manufacturing, the new and improved site has used over 25 tonnes of structural steel, 300m2 of concrete blocks and 7,700 man hours in total – that’s almost 1000 tea breaks.

The revitalised site signifies the beginning of an exciting era for Lucy Zodion; taking technology to future cities and providing further opportunities for the company and its staff to flourish. Lucy Zodion officially reveals the new extension on 19th September 2017 and looks forward to welcoming staff, past and present, to celebrate the new look premises and its 60th anniversary.
